Each of the computer support areas at Ferris run their own Symantic AntiVirus Servers that automatically update the definition fines on the systems they support. However, there are times when you should update the virus definition file manually. If there is a known virus outbreak on campus, you should update
your virus definition file immediately. Updating the Virus Definition FileThe easiest way to manually update the virus definition file is through the AntiVirus program. 1. Right-click the Symantec AntiVirus icon on the system tray in the bottom right corner and choose Open Symantec AntiVirus.
2. Make sure you are connected to the network. 3. Click LiveUpdate.
4. Click Next.
5. Wait while AntiVirus connects and downloads updates.
6. When the update is done, click Finish.
