When a virus is found by an antivirus program, the virus is put into quarantine. The purpose of the quarantine is to isolate files suspected to contain a virus, so that the files cannot be opened or executed. If you have any questions, call the TAC at (231) 591-4822.

To view and remove quarantined viruses:

  1. Go to Start, All Programs, Symantec Client Security.

  2. In the left hand side of the window, click on View then Quarantine.

  3. A list of Quarantined Viruses will appear in the right hand side of the screen.

  4. To Delete a Quarantined Virus, click on the name of the virus. Now Click on the Red X.

  5. Click on Start Delete.
