1999 Women's Cross Country Notes
Sophomore Katie Klaver (Social Work), junior Pam Preston (Small Business Management), sophomore April Smith (General Business), junior Michelle Terry (Health Care Systems Administration) and junior Sara Watson (Pre-Pharmacy) were named to the All-GLIAC Academic Team.
The Bulldogs finished 11th of 22 teams at the Michigan Intercollegiate Championships, Oct. 8 at Hillsdale. Sophomore April Smith paced FSU with a 33rd place time of 20:09. Junior MacKenzie Woodring was 65th at 20:49.
The Bulldogs finished 22nd at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational in Chicago, Oct. 2. Junior MacKenzie Woodring was Ferris' top runner with a 36th place time of 19:09.
The Bulldogs finished third with 91 points at the Central Michigan Drenth Memorial. Junior MacKenzie Woodring placed 15th with a time of 19:03 while sophomore April Smith was 20th at 19:37.
The Bulldogs took third place at the Ferris Invitational, Sept. 17. Junior MacKenzie Woodring won the meet with a time of 18:23.90 over 5 kilometers and captured GLIAC "Runner of the Week" honors. It was Woodring's second straight individual victory this fall. Her time at the Ferris Invitational was a personal best. Sophomore April Smith placed sixth at 18:41.40.
The Bulldogs won the Northwood Invitational (Sept. 10) with 18 points. FSU owned the meet's top four finishers, led by junior Mackenzie Woodring's first place time of 19:29.90. Sophomore April Smith was second (19:50.00) and junior Michelle Terry was third (20:04.70).
The Bulldogs finished third with 70 points at the Saginaw Valley State Invitational, Sept. 3. Junior Michelle Terry paced Ferris with a seventh place finish (23:49.28).
