The Bulldog Women's Cross Country Team Has Vaulted Into This Week's National Rankings At The 22nd Spot
The Ferris State University women's cross country team, which is guided by 10th-year head coach Jeff Kavalunas, is ranked 22nd in this week's (Sept. 26) NCAA Division II Cross Country Coaches Association National Rankings.

The Bulldogs are one of four Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) member schools ranked among the top 25 teams. Grand Valley State (second), Northern Michigan (sixth) and Hillsdale (16th) are also listed in the latest national rankings. This week's ranking marks FSU's first national ranking of the season.

FSU, which is fifth overall in this week's (Sept. 26) Great Lakes Regional Rankings, placed third overall behind Northern Michigan and Hillsdale in last Friday's (Sept. 23) Bulldog Invitational held at Ferris' Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich.

Last season (2004), Ferris State was ranked as high as eighth nationally in the rankings following a third-place finish in the 2004 GLIAC Championships (Oct. 23) at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Hudsonville, Mich.

Ferris State will take part in the annual Loyola Lakefront Invitational Saturday, Oct. 1, in Chicago, Ill. The event is set to begin at 11 a.m. (EDT).

FSU will play host to the 2005 NCAA-II Great Lakes Regional Championships Saturday, Nov. 5, beginning at 11 a.m. (EDT) at Katke Golf Course.
