Andrea Rich (New Baltimore/Anchor Bay), a senior setter-outside hitter on the 2008 Ferris State University women's volleyball team, recently earned the distinction of being the ninth individual in the program's history to reach the 2,000-career assists mark.
Rich, a 2008 FSU co-captain, registered a squad-high 13 assists in last Saturday's (Nov. 8) regular-season finale match against Michigan Tech at Houghton, Mich. The 2007 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Honorable Mention selection currently has compiled 2,000 career helpers in 82 matches.
A 2007 GLIAC All-Academic Team pick, Rich is the second Bulldog player to reach the milestone this season, joining senior setter-outside hitter Candice Marut as the newest members to the exclusive group. Marut notched her 2,000 career assist against Grand Valley State earlier this season (Oct. 24).
