Senior setter-outside hitter Candice Marut (Pinconning) became the eighth player in Ferris State women's volleyball history to register at least 2,000 career assists as she attained the milestone with a team-leading 19 helpers last Friday (Oct. 24) versus Grand Valley State at the Ewigleben Sports Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.

The 2008 FSU co-captain has amassed 2,033 career assists in 104 matches prior to the Bulldogs' home season-finale contest against Saginaw Valley State on Saturday (Nov. 1).

Marut, the 2007 team winner of the Bulldog Award for heart and desire, was 101 assists shy of moving into a seventh-place tie with Tricia Metz (1995-96) entering the Nov. 1 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match.
