WINNING WAYS CONTINUE FOR BULLDOG VOLLEYBALL

The winning ways continued for the Ferris State volleyball team as the Bulldogs handed Colorado State-Pueblo a 3-0 loss (25-20-25, 25-23) in a Tampa Classic match held Friday (Sept. 5) in Tampa, Fla.

The non-league victory improved Ferris State's overall record to 6-1 on the season as the Bulldogs won for the second time in as many 2008 Tampa Classic contests.

Freshman Ashley Huntey (Stanwood/Morley-Stanwood) hammered a match-high tying nine kills on 11 kills for an impressive .818 attack percentage as the Bulldogs hit .148 for the match. Senior setters, Andrea Rich (New Baltimore/Anchor Bay) and Candice Marut (Pinconning), produced 14 assists apiece while the directing the FSU offense. Defensively, redshirt frosh libero Lisa Tobiczyk's (Marysville) eight digs marked a match high.

Huntey, Rich, and freshman outside hitter Karen Thompson (Holt) added six digs for Ferris State. The Bulldogs enjoyed a 32-28 digs edge and limited CSU-Pueblo to a .086 hitting percentage for the match.
