(L-R): Andrea Rich, Candice Marut and Amanda Kettlewell display the pink uniforms which will be auctioned off to raise money for the Susan P. Wheatlake Foundation and Breast Cancer research.
The 2008 Ferris State University women's volleyball team will conduct an auction for the pink-colored uniforms worn from the "Volley For The Cure" initiative to help raise money for Breast Cancer research through the Susan P. Wheatlake Foundation.

A silent auction to help raise money will begin following this Friday's (Oct. 3) FSU volleyball's home match against Hillsdale at 7 p.m. (EDT) with all of the proceeds benefitting the Susan P. Wheatlake Women's Cancer and Wellness Fund. The auction will be available for every remaining 2008 Bulldog volleyball home match and conclude with the regular-season home finale match on Nov. 1 versus Saginaw Valley State.

The pink uniforms will be displayed with a signup bidding form next to each player's uniform. The bidding for each uniform will begin at $30 in order for the FSU volleyball program can cover initial production costs of the uniforms.

"This effort is just a small piece of our overall mission to connect with the community," said Ferris State Associate Athletics Director Jon Coles. "We are excited to be able to help such a honorable, respected, and worthy cause like the Susan P. Wheatlake Foundation."
