FERRIS MEN'S TENNIS MATCH TIME MOVED UP ONE HOUR
Bulldogs Host GVSU In Regular-Season Finale Tuesday Afternoon
The starting time has been changed for the Ferris State University men's tennis squad's scheduled Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) tilt on Tuesday (April 14) versus West Michigan rival Grand Valley State at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids, Mich.
The league match will now begin one hour earlier than previously scheduled with the official start time now set for 1 p.m. (EDT). The change is due to the weather conditions, which will likely force the match to be played inside the facility.
GVSU and Ferris are both currently tied for second place in the GLIAC standings heading into Tuesday's showdown with identical 5-1 league marks. The Lakers are 18-6 overall while the Bulldogs maintain a 10-6 record and have won five of their last six outings to date. Both squads suffered their lone GLIAC losses to league-leading Northwood (5-0) with match scores of 8-1 apiece.
Additionally, FSU is currently ranked fourth while the Lakers are sixth in the most recent (April 6) Campbell's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Rankings.
Last season, the Bulldogs recorded a 6-3 regular-season road win over the Lakers in Allendale (3/21/08), but dropped a 5-1 decision in a rematch during the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals (4/19/08) on a neutral court at Midland, Mich.
Tuesday's match is the final regular-season contest for both teams prior to this weekend's GLIAC Tournament, which will be held at the Midland Community Tennis Center on Saturday and Sunday (April 18-19). The official pairings for the league tournament will be announced later this week.
