 | Krystle Bailey is batting .455 in her last six contests with three multiple RBI game performances. |
Freshman catcher Krystle Bailey (Wyoming/Rogers) is hitting .455 in the Bulldogs' last six contests with 10 base hits in 22 at bats to go with eight RBIs. She hit safely in all six games, which included a four-of-four hit performance (two doubles) with three RBIs in a game two victory at Findlay (4/21). In her previous six outings, Bailey batted .261 with six hits in 23 official plate appearances.
Ferris State has won 11 of its last 14 contests to date and is averaging 5.71 runs per game (80 total runs) during that 14-game span. The Bulldogs were 5-9 in their prior 14 encounters this season and had averaged 4.07 runs (57 total runs) in that period.
Senior second baseman Lindsay Riskovitch (Reese) hit for a team-best .474 average in FSU's six outings this past week (4/18-22). She totaled nine hits in 19 at bats, which included two doubles. Riskovitch also scored eight runs to go with eight RBIs and produced a .579 slugging percentage.
Senior outfielder Emily McLean's (Rogers City) 62 base hits in 46 contests this season equals his career season-high hits output set in 51 outings a season ago. Her 62-hits total currently ranks in a three-way tie for ninth place on Ferris' all-time single-season leaders list with Casey Munger (1998).
Senior outfielder Jessica Jaroniewski (Millington), who has 34 base hits in 46 games this spring, is one shy of establishing a personal season high. Jaroniewski has generated her current season hits total in 129 at bats after accumulating 34 hits in 130 at bats in 51 2005 season contests.
| Jessica Jaroniewski enters this upcoming weekend's homestand one hit away from setting a personal career high in single-season base hits. |
Emily McLean has produced a career season-best 15 doubles this campaign and is one shy of matching Anne Bentley's (1998) school-record 16 two-base hits. McLean is presently tied with Jody Gifford (1998) and Jaymee Kent (1999) for second-place honors.
The Bulldogs have outscored their opponents this season in the seventh inning by a 40-9 count. Last season, Ferris held a 25-20 scoring advantage over its opponents in the seventh frame over the team's initial 46 outings.
Redshirt freshman pitcher Sarah Mueller (Santa Clarita, Calif./Valencia) is 5-2 with a 1.31 earned run average in her last seven appearances. She has posted 29 strikeouts while holding the opposition to a .218 batting average in 47.2 innings pitched.
Ferris has generated six double-digit run totals in a contest on six occasions this campaign after recording one such outing a season ago. The Bulldogs notched three consecutive single-game run totals this past week - 12 apiece at Lake Superior State (4/18) and at Findlay (4/21) along with 10 at Findlay (4/21) in the nightcap.
