April 18: Diamond Dawgs Notebag
 | Lindsay Riskovitch was the Bulldogs' top performer at the plate in last week's eight-game stretch with a team-leading .409 average, which included five extra-base hits and a team-best 10 RBIs. |
Senior pitcher Rachel Chartier (Marquette) picked up her 20th career victory by tossing a four-hitter at Mercyhurst (4/17). Chartier moved into an 11th-place tie with Roxanne Abramouski (1978-80) on FSU's all-time wins leaders list and is now two away from tying Linda Emmons (1981-84) for 10th place.
Ferris State is 10-2 this season when leading after five innings and 4-11 when trailing during that span. The Bulldogs are 9-4 when scoring the game's first run and 7-11 when the opposition tallies the first score in a contest.
Junior second baseman Lindsay Riskovitch (Reese) is batting a career-high .314 this season (27-86) to date in 29 contests. Riskovitch, who also has set career bests in RBIs (21), doubles (four), triples (four) and home runs (four) this spring, hit .241 last season (32-133) in 46 outings after posting a .200 average (19-95) in 40 games during her freshman year in 2003.
Lindsay Riskovitch registered a team-leading .409 batting average (9-22) in eight contests this last week, which included two doubles and triples apiece to go along with a home run and a squad-high 10 RBIs.
Junior outfielder Emily McLean (Rogers City) smacked her team-high seventh home run of the season in game one of a doubleheader at Mercyhurst (4/17) with a two-run shot. McLean is presently one roundtripper shy of tying Jody Gifford's fourth-place eight homers set in 1997 among the school's all-time single-season home run leaders. Her 10 career roundtrippers ranks fourth on Ferris' all-time charts and is one shy of equaling Anne Bentley's (1997-00) 11 career total.
Senior outfielder Amy Dollarhite (Dewitt/St. Johns) has notched a base hit in four of her last six contests to date. She has compiled 11 hits in 25 games this season which represents a career high.
| Amy Dollarhite has totaled a career-best 11 base hits this campaign after compiling seven a season ago. |
Emily McLean's team-leading 12 multiple-hit games this season not only marks a personal career best, but is one shy of matching last season's 13 multi-hit outings set by Nicki Merchant. McLean, who has nine two-hit games and a trio of three-hit contests, has amassed 25 career multiple-hit outings in 90 appearances.
Sophomore first baseman Laura Crower (Midland) is batting a team-high .469 (15-32) with seven RBIs in 10 conference contests this spring while Emily McLean's .425 average (17-40) in 12 league encounters ranks second highest to go along with a team-best 13 RBIs and four homers.
Sophomore catcher-designated player Allison McKibbin (Hemlock) has recorded a career-high 36 base hits in 32 games this spring, which is 23 more than she totaled in 24 contests a season ago. McKibbin also has drove in a career-best 25 runs this campaign compared to nine RBIs in 2004.
Ferris has four players with at least 30 hits this season - Emily McLean (37), Allison McKibbin (36), senior catcher-designated player Melissa Worsley (32) and Laura Crower(30). The four have accounted for 52.1% (135-259) of the squad's base hits this campaign.
