Totaled 44 putouts for the season - eighth best on the team . . . All three of her base hits were singles . . . Had a hit apiece in games against Lock Haven (3/7), Florida Southern (3/11) and Wayne State (3/26) . . . Recorded six putouts versus Quincy (4/20) . . . Notched four putouts each on three occasions vs. Florida Southern (3/11), Saginaw Valley State (4/15) and at Northwood (4/25).

High School: A 1999 graduate of Spring Lake High School . . . Earned four letters in softball under coach Bill Core . . . Received all-district and second-team all-region honors after helping the Lakers to a district championship in 1999 . . . Was a two-time team captain and academic all-state selection . . . Posted the team's highest batting average in 1996 (.303) and 1999 (.340) . . . Finished prep career with a .311 average . . . Lettered two seasons in basketball . . . National Honor Society member.

Personal: Daughter of Lowell and Sandra Baars of Spring Lake, Mich. . . . Born 8/1/80 in Spring Lake . . . Enjoys reading, rollerblading and exercising . . . Her brother (D.J.) is the head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs at Lake Superior State University . . . Majoring in criminal justice.
