The Bulldogs have scored two or more goals in six of their last seven outings to date this campaign.
Sophomore goalkeeper Carla Gilbertson (Waunakee, Wis.) is currently one win away from tying Alana Dombrowski (2000-03) for the most wins by a goalkeeper in school history. Gilbertson has a current career mark of 13-9-1 overall to date while Dombrowski posted a 14-15-5 mark during her career.
Freshman forward Kristie Smilanich (Kalamazoo/Christian) has three goals in FSU's last three outings to date, including the only goal in FSU's 1-0 non-league win over Tiffin (Ohio) last Thursday (Sept. 30).
Junior forward Lindsey Pawloski (Royal Oak/Kimball) presently has registered a team-high 17 points (8-1--17) to date this season. She currently ranks third on the school's all-time points leaders list with 32 (13-6--32) career points.
Lindsey Pawloski's 17 points to date this season in 12 games presently ranks seventh on the school's single-season leaders list.
Carla Gilbertson has registered five shutout victories in her last eight outings to date this season.
Junior forward Lisa O'Brian (Kalamazoo, Mich./Loy Norrix) presently ranks as FSU's second all-time leading scorer and goal producer with 52 points and 21 markers. O'Brian's 10 career assists currently ranks third on the school's all-time list.
Ferris State is ranked ninth in the most recent (Sept. 28) National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Great Lakes Regional Rankings.
The Bulldogs have currently split their last four league season openers to date following Sunday's (Oct. 3) 2-0 loss at Saginaw Valley State.
Ferris State, which is currently 6-5-1 overall this campaign, will host Northwood Thursday, Oct. 7, for a 4 p.m. (EDT) Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest at the FSU Varsity Soccer Field in Big Rapids, Mich. FSU then squares off against Northern Michigan Sunday, Oct. 10, in a 12 p.m. (EDT) conference home outing.
FSU has won four consecutive home contests to date this campaign. The Bulldogs have emerged victorious in eight of their last 10 home outings dating back to last season.
The Bulldogs defeated both Northwood and NMU last season. FSU posted a 3-2 win over Northwood (10/2) in Midland and then dealt the Wildcats a 2-1 overtime loss at Marquette (10/12). Ferris presently holds a 1-3-1 all-time record versus NU and is currently 2-3 all-time against NMU. The Bulldogs have posted two consecutive series' victories to date over Northern Michigan.
