Ferris State Women's Soccer Notes

Sophomore goalkeeper Carla Gilbertson (Waunakee, Wis.) surpassed Alana Dombrowski (2000-03) for the most wins by a goalkeeper in school history with Saturday's (Oct. 16) win over Gannon. Gilbertson has a current career mark of 15-11-1 overall to date while Dombrowski posted a 14-15-5 mark during her career.

Junior forward Lindsey Pawloski (Royal Oak/Kimball) presently has registered a team-high 22 points (10-2--22) to date this season. She currently ranks third on the school's all-time points leaders list with 37 (15-7--37) career points.

FSU improved to 4-5-8 overall in all-time overtime contests with Saturday's (Oct. 16) 1-0 extra period win over Gannon. The victory, which came in FSU's final regular-season road outing this campaign, also gave Ferris its fifth consecutive series' win over the Knights.

Second-year FSU head coach Melissa Lalonde needs four victories to tie Pete Watkins (1999-02) for the most victories in school history. Watkins, who served as Ferris' first-ever head coach, compiled a 23-36-7 mark in four seasons at the helm. The Bulldogs are 19-12-2 in two seasons under Lalonde to date.

Ferris, which is presently 8-7-1 overall this season, has won five of its last eight outings to date this campaign.

FSU has won five of its last six home contests to date this campaign. The Bulldogs have emerged victorious in nine of their last 12 home outings dating back to last season.

Ferris has currently recorded more shots than its opponent in seven of its last eight outings this campaign.

Lindsey Pawloski's 22 points to date this season in 16 games presently ranks sixth on the school's single-season leaders list.

Junior forward Lisa O'Brian (Kalamazoo, Mich./Loy Norrix) presently ranks as FSU's second all-time leading scorer and goal producer with 54 points and 22 markers. O'Brian's 10 career assists currently ranks third on the school's all-time list.

Carla Gilbertson's six shutouts to date this campaign presently ranks first on the school's single-season leaders chart. She needs three more shutouts to match Connie Bigott's (2000-01) school-record career total of nine shutouts.

The Bulldogs will open a season-ending three game homestand this weekend (Oct. 23-24) at the FSU Varsity Soccer Field in Big Rapids, Mich. Ferris will host Ashland Saturday (Oct. 23) in a 1 p.m. (EDT) contest before squaring off against Findlay Sunday (Oct. 24) at 12 p.m. (EDT).

Ashland is ranked tied for 11th place in the latest (Oct. 12) National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas NCAA Division II National Poll. AU is also listed second in the NSCAA Great Lakes Regional Rankings.

Ashland holds a 5-0 series' advantage heading into Saturday's meeting with FSU and has outscored the Bulldogs 22-1 all-time. UF maintains a 3-1-1 edge versus Ferris State although the Bulldogs won last season's (10/26) meeting 3-1 at Findlay, Ohio.
