Visser and Stuart Named 2008-09 "Bulldogs Of the Year"
Two Ferris State University senior student-athletes have been named the recipients of the Dean Davenport "Bulldog of the Year" Award. Standout Bulldog football player Jake Visser and All-American Mikinzie Stuart of the FSU women's cross country/track and field squad were honored as FSU's 2008-09 recipients. The award winners were selected by a FSU Athletics Department committee. The Dean Davenport "Bulldog of the Year" Award, which was reinstated in the 2002-03 season following a seven-year absence, is presented annually to the most outstanding Ferris State male and female student-athlete.

Holly Bruntjens Receives Bouyer Leadership Award
Ferris State University softball senior Holly Bruntjens has been named by the FSU Athletics Department as the 2008-09 athletics season recipient of the Willie Bouyer Leadership Award. The Willie Bouyer Leadership Award, which is regarded as the most prestigious of the FSU Athletics Department's four major annual honors, is named in memory of Ferris State's first All-America football student-athlete Willie Bouyer.

Jimmy Swears Courage Award Presented To Aaron Lewicki
Junior Aaron Lewicki, a member of the 2008-09 Ferris State University men's ice hockey team has been named the Jimmy Swears Courage Award recipient for the 2008-09 athletics season. Lewicki, a two-time (2007-08 and 2008-09) Ferris State Central Collegiate Hockey Association's (CCHA) Scholar-Athlete of the Year representative, has had to cope with the loss of his mother (Sue) since his time as a FSU student-athlete. Despite the personal loss, Lewicki has continued to excel both on the ice and in the classroom.
