FSN DETROIT TO TELEVISE CCHA PLAYOFF GAME AT FERRIS STATE
Next Friday's League Playoff Opener To Be Televised Live From Ewigleben Ice Arena
The 2007-08 Ferris State University men's ice hockey team's recent success has not only translated into a home ice berth in the opening round of the 2008 Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Playoffs, but also an opportunity for television exposure as the Bulldogs will be appearing on FSN Detroit next Friday (March 7) versus the Western Michigan Broncos.
As a result of the league playoff series opener being televised, the puck will drop at 7:35 p.m. (EST) inside Ewigleben Ice Arena on the FSU campus in Big Rapids, Mich.
Calling the action for FSN Detroit next Friday will be Ken Daniels with Fred Pletsch serving as the color analyst.
Ferris State, under 16th-year head coach Bob Daniels, moved up one place into 19th in this week's (March 2) Inside College Hockey.com's national rankings. The Bulldogs wrapped up fifth place in the final 2007-08 CCHA regular-season standings with 28 league points, which represents their highest finish since the 2002-03 season when FSU captured the league regular-season championship title with a first-place 22-5-1 mark. Ferris State presently sports a 15-14-5 overall record and finishes 12-12-4 (28 league points) in CCHA action.
This season represents the third consecutive year in which FSN Detroit will be televising a Bulldog men's ice hockey contest. FSN Detroit aired the Bulldogs' 2006-07 regular-season outing against Michigan State last season (Feb. 13) in which Ferris claimed a 2-1 victory over the Spartans.

The regional network was the first to televise live a contest from FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena as FSN Detroit televised the opening game (March 3) of a 2006 CCHA Playoff Series between Ferris and Ohio State. The host Bulldogs prevailed by a 3-0 score and went on to sweep the best two-of-three series. Prior to that outing, the last time a live telecast was held at the Ewigleben Ice Arena was on Oct. 17, 1986, when Ferris State and Michigan State squared off on the defunct PASS (Pro Am Sports System)-produced encounter.
FSN Detroit is available via satellite on DirecTV channel 636 and Dish Network channel 430. Viewers in other areas of the nation should contact their local cable provider to determined if FSN Detroit is available.
FSN Detroit is celebrating its 11th year of televising CCHA hockey this season. Telecasts of CCHA games are part of the more than 250 live local events presented each year by FSN Detroit that reach more than 3.2 million cable and satellite households throughout Michigan and portions of Northwest Ohio and Northern Indiana.
The Ferris State men's ice hockey program was featured on CCHA All-Access this past weekend (Feb. 22-23). CCHA All-Access is a half-hour weekly FSN Detroit show which features behind the scenes footage of the 12 CCHA-member institutions.
