Jim Baker
Hockey, 1978-82
Baker compiled 205 career points with 82 goals and 123 assists in 137 games. The 1979-80 All-Central Collegiate Hockey Association First-Team honoree also totaled 54 penalties for 132 minutes. He presently ranks second among FSU’s all-time leaders in scoring (205 pts.), third in assists (123) and fourth in goals (82). The Mississauga, Ontario native was a four-time recipient of the Lloyd Earl Award as the team’s top scorer and was a three-time team co-captain (1979-82). He also holds the distinction of scoring the quickest successive three goals in FSU history against Lake Superior State in 1980.
Baker was a professional player-coach with the Tilburg (Holland) Trappers and coached Big Rapids High School hockey from 1985-00, winning nine regional championships and twice earning Michigan High School Athletic Association Coach of the Year honors. A member of the 20th Anniversary All-Time Bulldog Hockey Team, Baker is a financial consultant and has three children.
