FERRIS STATE PREVAILS TO WIN NORTHWOOD INVITATIONAL

FSU Features Top Three Finishers; Robles Top Medalist

Elena Robles was top medalist in leading the Bulldogs to a first-place showing at the Northwood Invitational.
Ferris State's women's golf team earned the distinction of having the top three individual performers at the Northwood Invitational as the Bulldogs captured first-place honors with a two-round 625-team score.

The Bulldogs turned in a 308-stroke total in Saturday's (Oct. 2) final round after compiling a 316 score in opening round competition Friday (Oct. 1). Host Northwood placed runner up among five teams at the par 72, 6,227-yard Currie West Golf Course in Midland, Mich.

Junior Elena Robles garnered top individual medalist honors with a 152 (79-73--152, +9) while freshmen Becky Hoffman (75-78-153, +10) and Yasuyo Kiyota (79-81--160, +17) finished second and third, respectively.

Sophomores Casey McKinnon (83-81--164, +21) and Heidi Aittama (87-77--164, +21) each tied for fifth place and frosh Missy Ward (84-85-169, +26) tied for eighth to round out the Ferris scorers.

Senior Meredith Johnson, competing as a non-scoring individual, fired a 176 (93-83--176, +33) to place tied for 14th.
