FSU PLACES 13TH AT SOUTHERN ILLINOIS' SALUKI INVITATIONAL

Two Bulldogs Finish Among The Top 50 Individuals

Elena Robles posted a team-best 166 score to tie for 28th place at the Saluki Invite.
Ferris State women's golf team finished 13th with a two-round score of 689 (346-343) at the 10th annual Southern Illinois Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Ill. as final-round play concluded Monday (March 29)

The Bulldogs were 13th in a 17-team field as Michigan claimed the team title with a 622 score (310-312) on the par 72, 5,999-yard Hickory Ridge Golf Course. Host Southern Illinois was second with a 634 (317-317) and Illinois State took third by posting a 639 score (324-315).

Two Bulldogs finished in the top 50, led by sophomore Elena Robles' 28th-place tying performance. Robles shot rounds of 84 and 82 for a 166 total (+22). Freshman Heidi Aittama tied five others for 49th place as a result of carding a 172 (86-86--172, +28).

Senior Ellie Saladin tied for 61st with a 175 (87-88--175, +31) while sophomore Casey McKinnon's 176 score (89-87--176, +32) tied her for 67th place. Freshman Sam Wideman shot a 194 (97-97--194, +50) to tie for 95th. Sophomore Meredith Johnson rounded out the scoring for Ferris State as she garnered 100th place with a 200-stroke total (93-107--200, +56).
