FSU TURNS IN SOLID EFFORT AT BGSU FALCON INVITATIONAL
Aittama Leads Bulldogs With Eighth-Place Finish

Freshman Heidi Aittama helped guide the Ferris State women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the nine-team Bowling Green State Falcon Invitational this weekend (Sept. 13-14) as the Bulldogs registered a two-round 647-stroke total at the Forrest Creason Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Ferris recorded an opening-round 321 total and then followed by a final-round 326 score in Sunday's action as the Bulldogs finished +71 on the par 72, 6,028-yard course. Grand Valley State and Toledo each notched two-round 619 scores to claim the top spot before GVSU won the tourney in a playoff.
Aittama paced Ferris with a team-high eighth-place individual finish as a result of carding a 153 score (78-75--153, +9) while sophomore Elena Robles shot a 162 (81-81--162, +18) to finish in a two-way tie for 18th place.
Senior Ellie Saladin and freshman Kelley Wilkinson both tied for 27th place with 167 scores. Saladin (80-87--167, +23) and Wilkinson (83-84--167, +23) were joined by fellow FSU frosh Sam Wideman (82-85--167, +23), who competed as a non-scoring individual. Sophomore Casey McKinnon rounded out the scoring for Ferris with a 33th-place 168-stroke total (82-86--168, +24).
