FERRIS PLACES 13TH AT BALL STATE CARDINAL CLASSIC

Bulldogs Face Tough Competition at Division I Tourney

The Ferris State women's golf team placed 13th in the 17-team Ball State Cardinal Classic field as the Bulldogs shot an opening-round 333 score on Saturday (Sept. 6) and then followed with a 325 in Sunday's (Sept. 7) final-round competition at the 72 Par, 6,119-yard The Players Club Golf Course in Yorktown, Ind.

Western Michigan took first-place honors with a two-round 606-stroke total while host Ball State was second (613) and Grand Valley State finished third (617).

Sophomore Elena Robles led Ferris with a 24th-place tying 157 (79-78--157) total while sophomore Casey McKinnon carded a 162 (82-80--162) to tie for 37th place and senior Ellie Saladin fired a 167 (85-82--167) to finished tied for 58th place.

Junior Rachael Peterson tied for 68th place as a result of notching a 172 score (87-85--172) and freshman Sam Wideman claimed the 81st-place spot following a 178 total (90-88--178).
