FERRIS STATE PLACES SIXTH AT WMU BRONCO INVITATIONAL

Senior Kathyrn Bobbie Ties For Fourth Place To Pace The Bulldogs

The Ferris State women's golf team garnered a sixth-place finish at the Western Michigan Bronco Invitational as the Bulldogs registered a two-round 663 team score on The Moors Golf Course in Portage, Mich.

Ferris shot an opening-round 328 score Sunday on the 5,954-yard course and then followed with a final-round 335 as the Bulldogs' 663 total strokes (+79) was one behind fifth-place Ball State. Host Western Michigan captured top team honors with a first-place 625 score (+41) while Grand Valley State was runner up as a result of posting a 656 score (+72).

Senior Kathryn Bobbie was +9 for the tourney with rounds of 79 and 76 for a 155 total as she placed tied for fourth place with Cincinnati's Allison Couch. Fellow senior Jenn Soltis was among three golfers who shared the 18th-place position due to carding a 166 score (81-85-166, +20). Freshman Elena Robles was one stroke behind Soltis and placed in a three-way deadlock for 21st place. Robles notched a two-round 167 score (82-85-167, +21).

Senior Jen Dziabo (88-89-177, +31) and sophomore Meredith Johnson (86-92-178, +32) rounded out the scoring for Ferris State. Dziabo tied for 46th place while Johnson finished in a two-way tie for 48th place.

Competing for FSU as a non-scoring participant was junior Cassie Graves, who tied for the 50th spot with a 182 score (92-90-182, +36).

Next action for the Bulldogs is this weekend (April 18-19) at the University of Illinois Illini Classic in Urbana, Ill.
