Ferris State Enters Spring Season Ranked Third In The Latest (March 7) Golf World/NGCA Division II Coaches' Poll.

The first Golf World/National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Women's Golf Coaches' Poll of the 2008 spring season has the Ferris State University women's golf team listed in third place which the Bulldogs have occupied since the start of the 2007-08 campaign. The poll, which was released Wednesday (March 5), will be appearing in the March 7th issue of Golf World.

Ferris State compiled 275 points to place eight points in front of fourth-place Grand Valley State (267 points) as Florida Southern continues to hold the top spot in the top-25 poll with 320 points and nine first-place votes. The 2007 NCAA Division II National Champions garnered four more points than Rollins (Fla.), which claimed four first-place votes and totaled 316 points. Tarleton State (Texas) rounds out the top five with a 246-points total.

Findlay and Northwood, who are among Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)-member institutions as is Ferris State, received four points apiece and were two of 20 teams receiving votes.

The Bulldogs, under the direction of interim head coach Mike Mignano, their spring season March 29-30 taking part in the Northern Kentucky Invitational at Perry Park, Ky.
