Meghan Hunter and the Ferris State women's golf team continues to occupy fourth place in the Golf World/NGCA Division II Coaches' Poll.

The number four is a constant for the nationally-ranked Ferris State University women's golf team as the Bulldogs remained in fourth place following Wednesday's (March 21) release of the second 2007 Golf World/National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Division II Coaches' Poll.

Ferris State, coached by Brad Bedortha, received 147 points for fourth place and were 15 points in back of third-place Lynn (Fla.). The Bulldogs garnered a fourth-place 186 total points in the March 7 inaugural poll.

Florida Southern remains at number one with 173 points and five first-place votes. Rollins (Fla.) into second place with 167 points and two first-place votes after ranking third in the first poll.

Grand Valley State, a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)-member institution like Ferris, is listed ninth with 121 points. Northwood, also a GLIAC member, was among 11 teams receiving votes as the Timberwolves earned four points.

The poll is based on the selections of nine women's coaches from across the country and can be viewed online at www.golfworld.com/womenspoll. The top 25 national poll combines the resources of Golf World magazine and the NGCA.

The 2006 NCAA Division II National Champion runner-up, Ferris State has captured three tournament titles to date for the 2006-07 season -- Ferris State Invitational (Sept. 2-3), Northwood Invitational (Sept. 29-30) and the Lenoir-Rhyne Lady Bear Intercollegiate (March 12-13). Coach Bedortha's squad hasn't finished no lower than second place in its seven tourneys this campaign.

Ferris State's first-place 610 two-round score at the Lenoir-Rhyne Lady Bear Invitational represented a team season-best stroke total while sophomore Megan Hunter (Dexter) earned top individual medalist honors for the first time in her collegiate career with a season-best 147 score (71-76=147).

The Bulldogs are back on the links March 24-25 at the Northern Kentucky Invitational in Perry Park, Ky.
