FERRIS WOMEN'S GOLF FINISHES SECOND AT FINDLAY INVITATIONAL

Robles and Hoffman Are Among Top 10 On Final Leaderboard

Becky Hoffman helped the Bulldogs take second place at the Findlay-Outback Steakhouse Invitational with a 165 two-round stroke total.
The Ferris State women's golf team maintained its hold on second place as the Bulldogs registered a tourney final-round 325 score in Tuesday's (April 18) action to finish second of nine teams at the Findlay-Outback Steakhouse Invitational in Findlay, Ohio.

Ferris compiled a two-round 658-stroke total (+82) to finish nine strokes in back of tourney champion Grand Valley State (649, +73). Southern Illinois-Edwardsville took third place with 675 (+99) and Drury posted a 682 (+106) to claim fourth.

Senior Elena Robles paced the Bulldogs with a third-place 158 score (77-81--158, +14) and sophomore Becky Hoffman also cracked the top 10 on the individual leaderboard with a seventh-place 165 (82-83--165, +21) showing.

Sophomore Missy Ward and freshman Meghan Hunter each grabbed a share of 11th place with two others as a result of carding 168 scores (+24). Ward's second round of 80 was eight strokes less than her opening-round 88 total while Hunter improved by seven strokes from 87 to 81 in final-round play.

Junior Casey McKinnon finished 21st overall by firing a 174 score (87-87--174, +30).

Freshman Raquel Hansen, junior Sam Wideman, and freshman Alison Meyer all competed as non-scoring individuals. Hansen tallied a 175 (89-86--175, +31) to tie for 22nd-place honors while Wideman had a 180 score (93-87--180, +36) to place tied for 33rd. Meyer registered a 187 (97-90--187, +43) to garner 38th place.
