FERRIS STATE TAKES FOURTH PLACE AT ASHLAND INVITE
Ferris State shot a 304 to finish fourth overall in the Ashland Invitational held Friday (April 8) at the Ashland Country Club in Ashland, Ohio. Findlay won the event with a team score of 299 while Northwood placed second (300). The host Eagles were third (302) in the nine-team field.
FSU was led by the threesome of junior Todd Griffin, sophomore Alex Balog and freshman Derek Shelburne. They all carded scores of 75 to finish in a five-way tie for ninth place.
Bulldog sophomore Kyle Mason tied for 14th place with a 76 while both senior Aaron Brown and sophomore Jeff Carlson fired scores of 78 to tie for 25th place. Junior Derek Radley's score of 80 was good enough to finish tied for 33rd place on the par 72 course.
Findlay's David Morgan won a four-way playoff to capture individual medalist honors with a 73.
