GRIFFIN LEADS FERRIS TO TOP FINISH AT HILLSDALE TOURNEY

Senior Claims Individual Medalist Honors

Senior Chris Griffin fired a two-under 141 score in helping the Bulldogs capture the Hillsdale Invitational title.
Ferris State senior Chris Griffin shot a two-round 142-stroke total to secure medalist honors as the Bulldogs won the Hillsdale Invitational with a first-place 607 score (306-301--607, +31). Griffin shot consecutive rounds of 71 to finish two strokes under par on the par 72 Blackberry Patch Golf Course in Coldwater, Mich.

Fellow senior Pat Simmer, who competed as a non-scoring individual, garnered second place with a 150 score (74-76--150, +6).

Freshman Alex Balog continued his recent productive play by shooting a 151 (72-79--151, +7) to place third while frosh Jeff Carlson tied two others for the sixth spot with a 154 (80-74--154, +10). Freshman Kyle Mason's 161 (83-78--161, +17) tied him for 22nd place and sophomore Everett Leonard turned in a 26th-place tying 162 total (84-78-162, +18).

Sophomore Aaron Brown and senior Craig Piscopink both took part as non-scoring individuals. Brown carded a 155 (76-79--155, +11) to tie for ninth place and Piscopink posted a 35th-place finish with a 170 score (85-85--170, +26).
