FERRIS STARTS OUT SEASON WITH THIRD-PLACE SHOWING
Pat Simmer Leads The Way At Ferris State Invitational

The Ferris State men's golf team opened its 2003-04 season with a third-place finish in the annual Ferris State Invitational (Sept. 12-13) at FSU's Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids.
Ferris State fired a two-day score of 584 (295-289--584) in finishing behind first-place Oakland (579) and Grand Valley State (581). Twelve teams took part in the 36-hole competition on the par 72, 6,645-yard course.
FSU was paced by senior Pat Simmer's two-round score of 142 (71-71). He placed tied for second along with Findlay's Mitch Blackburn.
Freshman Jeff Carlson tied for seventh place (73-72--145), freshman Alex Balog tied for 20th (77-73--150), senior Jon Pazdera tied for 26th (79-73--152) and sophomore Aaron Brown also tied for 26th (74-78--152) for Ferris State.
