FERRIS STATE ATHLETICS TO PROVIDE INTERNET WEBCASTS
Bulldogs Team Up With Local Radio Station WBRN To Air Selected Events In 2003-04
The Ferris State University Athletics Department and local radio affiliate WBRN 1460 AM are teaming up to offer free internet webcasts for selected Bulldog Athletics events during the 2003-04 athletics season. The announcement was made today by FSU Athletics Director Tom Kirinovic.
All 2003 Bulldog football games, both home and away, will be provided to anyone with access to the official FSU athletics
website at www.ferris.edu/sports. In addition, selected Bulldog men’s ice hockey along with men’s and women’s basketball games will also be broadcast. Dates and times for those broadcasts will be announced at a later date and posted on Ferris’ athletics
website.
“We’re pleased to provide this service to our parents, alumni and fans, based on the inquiries we’ve received over the past few years,” said Kirinovic. “It’s an added bonus to be able to offer this service free of charge, which should make it appealing for all interested parties.
“This is another step in raising the level of awareness for the great product we have in Bulldog Athletics,” Kirinovic added.
For those interested in tuning in, an icon has been established on FSU’s official athletics website at www.ferris.edu/sports. Interested parties can then access the live broadcast by WBRN through a link to the Ferris Cable Channel 7 website. Fans will need to utilize the free RealPlayer software, which is also available for download at the site. The site includes additional information about the service and a list of upcoming events.
“This is a great opportunity for our alumni outside of the surrounding community to keep track of the Bulldogs,” said Brian Kegler, FSU’s Assistant Athletics Director. “In the past, we haven’t been able to offer this service so we’re excited we’ll be able to bring Bulldog Athletics coverage to our fans both locally and nationally.”
The first scheduled webcast is this Saturday’s (Sept. 6) football game at Hillsdale. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. (EDT) at HC’s Frank “Muddy” Waters Stadium in Hillsdale, Mich.
