PAUL QUICK RECEIVES 2005-06 PETE PETERSON PRIDE AWARD

Ferris State Employee Honored For Outstanding Service To Bulldog Athletics

Paul QuickPaul Quick has been named the 2005-06 recipient of the “Pete Peterson Pride Award”, which is presented annually by the Ferris State University Athletics Department.

The award, which is named in honor of former Ferris State Athletics Director and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Commissioner Pete Peterson (1964-79), is presented to an individual who has demonstrated loyalty and unselfish support of Bulldog Athletics. The award, which was reinstated following the 2002-03 athletics season after a seven-year absence, recognizes outstanding service and support from those outside the athletics department staff. Coaches and athletics department staff nominate individuals to be considered which are selected from alumni, community members, university faculty or staff member, and a fan. A committee from the administration staff of intercollegiate athletics, as appointed by the athletics director's office then makes the final selection.

Quick, who presently serves as the Manager of Business Operations at Ferris State University, recently retired from assisting Bulldog Athletics after 17 years of distinguished service. He had spent the past two years serving as the FSU Athletics' Ticket Manager for football and basketball games. Quick started working at Ferris Athletics events in the fall of 1989 as a ticket gatekeeper.

A graduate of Ferris State, Quick cherishes the opportunity to have witnessed several historic Bulldog sporting events and also being introduced to the institution's quality student-athletes. He plans to become a "full-time" Ferris sports fan and continue cheering on the Bulldogs.

“Paul has always put the customers and our student-athletes first in all of his efforts to assist the athletics program,” said Ferris State Athletics Director Tom Kirinovic. “No job is too big or too small for him to handle. He has been a tremendous asset in day-to-day operations of our department for many years and we appreciate his support.”
