Media and Fans Alike Are Invited To Attend And Interact With The Bulldogs
The Ferris State University football program will conduct its annual Media/Fans Picture Day Friday, Aug. 19, at Top Taggart Field on the FSU campus in Big Rapids, Mich.
There is no admission charge and the general public is welcome to attend the event, which will begin around 1 p.m. (EDT). Regional media are encouraged to attend the event which will consist of player/coach availability for interviews.  | Senior split end Brandis Bowie is among 23 returning Bulldog letterwinners on offense this season. |
The Bulldog Football Media/Fans Picture Day provides an opportunity for local and statewide media outlets to interview all 2005 Ferris football team student-athletes along with members of the coaching staff. Ferris State players and coaches will also be available for autographs and photographs. The Bulldogs will also hold their final 2005 fall camp scrimmage later in the day from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (EDT) at Top Taggart Field and the public is also invited to attend.
Ferris returns 38 letterwinners, including 13 starters, from last season’s squad which posted a 6-5 overall record with a fifth-place 6-4 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) mark. The Bulldogs are coached by Jeff Pierce, who begins his 11th year at Ferris and owns the distinction of being the school’s all-time winningest coach with a 66-44-0 (.600) career coaching record.
The Bulldogs kickoff the the 2005 gridiron campaign and their 97th season of varsity competition Saturday, Aug. 27, against the Grand Valley State University Lakers at GVSU’s Arend D. Lubbers Stadium in Allendale, Mich. The GLIAC opener is scheduled for a 7 p.m. (EDT) opening kickoff. Ferris returns to action a week later (Sept. 3), hosting the Ashland University Eagles in a 7:05 p.m. (EST) contest at Top Taggart Field. Additional highlights of the 2005 11-game regular season schedule include the annual Hall of Fame game (Sept. 24) versus Mercyhurst and the 79th Homecoming contest (Oct. 15) against Northern Michigan. Both encounters are slated to begin at 2 p.m. (EDT).
