October 2007 Honorees

Lindsay Tye - Women's Volleyball Senior Chelsea, Mich./Gregory Averaged 4.44 kills per game (142 kills) and a .312 hitting percentage, both team highs, as a starter in all nine matches for the month. Recorded seven double-figure kill match efforts, including 24 at nationally-ranked Grand Valley State (10/2) and produced 23 kills with 18 digs in a 3-2 come-from-behind league win over nationally-ranked Hillsdale (10/12). Totaled six double-double (kills and digs) match performances which featured the final four contests of the month. Tallied double-digit kills in each of the month’s final four outings (10/19-26). Had three service aces to go with 10 kills against Mercyhurst (10/6). Posted a .531 attack percentage with 17 kills in 32 attempts at Lake Superior State (10/21) and turned in a .419 hitting percentage (17-31) at Michigan Tech. Garnered a season-best 21 digs versus Grand Valley State (10/26) while helping the Bulldogs post a 6-3 mark for the month.

Kurt Valley - Men's Golf Sophomore Bay City, Mich./Western Averaged 73.50 (294 total strokes) in four rounds for the month. Carded a team-leading second-place tying three-round 218-stroke total at the 2007 GLIAC Championships (10/8-9) in Findlay, Ohio, as the Bulldogs tied for second-place honors in the 10-team conference tourney field. Registered a final-round 76 score for a two-round 155 to tie for 45th place at the Wayne State Motor City Invitational (9/30-10/1) as Ferris State finished seventh of 12 participating teams.
