Amy WoodmanAmy Woodman - Women's Track and Field
Senior
Bristol, United Kingdom

She captured the national championship in the long jump during the opening day of action at the 2008 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships (March 14-15) in Mankato, Minn. Woodman registered the meet's best mark of 19-6 on her first jump of the competition, which ended up being one and three-quarters inches better than the runner-up finish. The senior topped the field of 15 jumpers and earned All-America recognition in her first trip to the national meet as FSU finished 15th in the final team standings. For her efforts, she was also named to the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association All-America Team. Woodman also competed in the preliminary round of the 200 meters at nationals, but failed to reach the finals with a time of 26.06. Woodman's title effort in the long jump represented the first time a Bulldog women's track and field athlete had ever claimed a national championship in either indoor or outdoor competition and marked only the second time in school history a Bulldog track athlete had claimed a national title at the NCAA level.
