January Honorees

Rachel Folcik - Women's Basketball Junior, Forward/Center Powers, Mich./Carney-Nadeau The junior forward averaged a team-best 19.4 points and 8.9 rebounds while leading the Bulldogs to a 6-2 overall mark in January. The 6-1 Folcik posted five consecutive double-double (points & rebounds) efforts to begin the month and recorded six double-figure scoring games in the stretch. She had a personal career-high 37 points along with 10 rebounds at Mercyhurst (1/18), which was the highest scoring performance by a Bulldog player since 1993. Folcik, who was named the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week three times during the month, also scored 20 points or more in four of the nine games. She shot 56% from the floor and made 35-of-40 (.875) free throws.

Matt Verdone - Hockey Senior, Left Wing Summerstown, Ontario Registered a team second-best eight points with three goals and five assists in nine contests. Recorded at least a point in the last seven games of the month, including a two-point (0-2=2) effort at Michigan (1/27). Tallied a goal in three consecutive contests - twice versus Nebraska-Omaha (1/19-20) and at Western Michigan (1/23). Accounted for the game-winning goal with a power-play marker in Ferris State's 6-3 home triumph over Nebraska-Omaha (1/20). Ferris State posted a 3-6-0 record for the month.
