December 2007 Honorees

Rachel Folcik - Women's Basketball Senior Powers, Mich./Carney-Nadeau Folcik led the Bulldogs to four wins in seven December outings as she averaged a team-high 22.7 points along with 12 rebounds per game during the month. She notched double-figure scoring in all seven contests and had five double-double (points & rebounds) efforts, including 34 points and 15 boards in FSU’s month-ending 83-73 win at Azusa Pacific (Calif.). Folcik was named GLIAC North Division Player of the Week for the eighth time in her career on Dec. 17 and shot 54.5% (60-110) from the field along with 88.1% (37-42) at the charity stripe in the seven contests. Additionally, she added 25 assists, 10 steals and three blocked shots.

Blair Riley - Hockey Sophomore Kamloops, British Columbia Recorded a team-best four goals in five December games, including his first collegiate hat trick (three goals) in the Bulldogs’ 5-0 win at Connecticut (12/30) in the championship game of the 15th annual Toyota UConn Hockey Classic. Named Most Valuable Player of the 2007 Toyota UConn Hockey Classic and also was selected to the all-tournament team. Produced a plus three efficiency rating in the championship game victory over Connecticut while netting the game-winning lamplighter. Accounted for FSU’s lone goal in a 4-1 league loss at nationally-ranked Michigan State (12/8). Ferris State compiled a 3-2-0 record for the month.
