BIG RAPIDS – This will be a season-testing week of softball for Ferris State University on the diamond.

The Bulldogs, ranked eighth in the nation in Division II, will be tested on the road with three doubleheaders that include a trip to Allendale and then to Ohio to Tiffin and Ashland. Ferris’ week begins Wednesday (due to change) when it faces Grand Valley State and then to the Buckeye State where it faces Tiffin Dragons, Saturday, and the Ashland Eagles, one of the top teams in the conference, Sunday – before returning to Big Rapids.

Grand Valley, as a rival, always presents a tough challenge, Tiffin is a solid and capable team, and Ashland is perennially one of the toughest opponents in the GLIAC.

Ferris has had a good run at home, but now must test itself against three opponents that will present good challenges.

This is a pivotal week that will help continue to sort through competitors in the race for seeding for the GLIAC Tournament.

Through Sunday, Saginaw Valley is in first place at 14-2, Ferris is second at 12-2 while Ashland and Wayne are tied in third place at 11-3.
