BIG RAPIDS – Now in the stretch run of its season, the Ferris women’s soccer program found out it is ranked ninth in the Midwest Region according to rankings released in the latest NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Poll.
Rivals from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference who are ranked above head coach Neathan Gibson’s Bulldogs include No. 1 Grand Valley, No. 5 Tiffin and No. 8 Saginaw Valley.
Ferris, which is 5-6-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the conference, will host its home season finale on Sunday as it hosts Findlay (Oct. 19) in a 12 p.m. contest at the FSU Soccer Field. That is a follow up to Friday’s 4 p.m. contest (Oct. 17) against Tiffin.
After that, Ferris is at Saginaw Valley (Oct. 24), at Northwood (Oct. 26) and at Grand Valley (Nov. 1) to close out the regular season.
The seniors for the Bulldogs are Chelsy Wagner, a defenseman from Ann Arbor; Jackie Back, a defenseman from Ortonville; Julia Zilan, a defenseman from Wixom; and Brandy Tarnowsky, a defenseman from Roseville.
