BLOG 7: Lilleboe and Valley share men’s golf MVP honors
By Sandy Gholston
BIG RAPIDS – The Ferris men’s golf team has been undergoing a renaissance in recent competitive seasons.
Two of the key components of this past season’s success, during which Ferris earned a national ranking, were Eric Lilleboe and Kurt Valley. For their accomplishments, Lilleboe and Valley were named co-recipients of the team’s Most Valuable Player Award. It’s the second season in a row for Lilleboe to receive team MVP honors. In addition, redshirt freshman Garrett Simons was presented the Bulldog Award for “demonstrating the most dedication and hard work throughout the season.”
The Bulldog men’s golf team came on strong this season and with a pair of juniors (Lilleboe and Valley) as leaders, the future looks bright for Ferris in men’s golf competition. This past season, Ferris placed eighth at the NCAA Division II National Championships (matching the team’s highest finish ever on the national stage).
