BIG RAPIDS – Getting an opportunity to wear the coveted “C” on your jersey is a big-time honor in college hockey.

In perhaps no other sport is the role of team captain as well respected and important.

The Bulldogs, entering the upcoming season, will feel like they have one of the best leaders in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and the nation wearing its “C” with Big Rapids native Cody Chupp. Veteran head coach Bob Daniels made the anticipated announcement that Chupp will serve as captain for the second season in a row.

It’s not going to strike anyone as a major surprise this season that Chupp has earned that prestigious title for the second year in a row during the 2009-10.

It will be exciting to see how Chupp again takes the leadership role for a Ferris team looking to bounce back with a big season. As a junior, Chupp totaled 12 points on seven goals with five assists.

The competitor that Chupp is will motivate him to bounce back and have a big season on the ice for the Bulldogs. If anyone is capable of leading Ferris to a strong bounce-back season, it is Chupp – a player who grew up in the shadow of Ferris.
