BIG RAPIDS – The recruiting efforts of the Ferris State University coaching staff have paid dividends, according to Inside College Hockey.com (INCH).

INCH has Ferris’ 2008-09 freshman class ranked 15th in the nation among Division I programs. That is largely indicative of the great work of head coach Bob Daniels; associate head coach Drew Famulak, assistant coach Mark Kaufman and assistant Dave Cencer identifying and recruiting good talent. Battling the likes of national powers from all over the country for some of the top recruits in the nation has always been a challenge for Ferris. But, the Bulldogs are getting some good results from their recruiting efforts.

This season, first-year goaltender Taylor Nelson has looked solid when he has gotten his chances while sharing the duties between the pipes with sophomore Pat Nagle, who was a highly-touted recruit coming in last season. Nelson was ranked as the fourth-best incoming goaltender this season by INCH to match Nagle, who ranked fourth the year before when he came to the Bulldogs as a rookie.
