BLOG 15: Bulldogs get first road test this weekend on the ice

By Sandy Gholston

BIG RAPIDS – Ferris State this weekend begins its first road test of the campaign as it travels to Pennsylvania to take on Robert Morris in a two-game set in Pittsburgh.

The teams play Friday (Oct. 17) at 7:35 p.m. and then wrap up the series on Saturday with start-time scheduled for 7:35 p.m. as well. This series marks the first time the two schools have clashed on the hockey ice.

After splitting a pair of home non-conference games against Canisius, it would be a nice lift for the Bulldogs to venture away from home and return with a pair of wins. Going on the road is always a challenge and the Bulldogs hope to build on the second part of last weekend’s split as Ferris rolled to a 5-2 win.

Head coach Bob Daniels had an opportunity to see and evaluate a number of guys on his roster – including some talented freshmen who got their first exposure to college hockey. But, on the road, the challenge is even greater as Ferris will have to find ways to generate its own energy to block out the crowd and enjoy success.
