BLOG 6: Great performance by Bulldog women runners in Wisconsin

BIG RAPIDS – Ferris State’s women’s cross country team had a strong weekend in Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational 5K race in Kenosha.

The Bulldogs earned a strong team score of 98 points to finish comfortably ahead of second place Indiana Tech, which finished with a score of 159.

Ferris’ Tina Muir had a strong effort as she finished fourth in the event with a clocked time of 18:05. Shorter College’s Justyna Mudy was the race winner in a time of 17:26.

Ferris was well-represented among the top 30 individual women finishers.

Also, for the Bulldogs, senior Mikinzie Stuart continues her strong fall campaign as she placed ninth in the field in 18:51. Jackie Green, another Bulldog senior, crossed the finish line in 30th place in 19:21.

The Ferris men finished 12th in the 8K race as a team with 353 points in Kenosha as part of the UW-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational.

Mike Mangieri was the top finisher for the Bulldogs as he placed 42nd in 27:06 while Tyler Crossman placed 62nd in 27:35.
