RADIO COVERAGE PLANS ANNOUNCED FOR FERRIS-NOTRE DAME WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EXHIBITION CONTEST

News Talk 1460 AM WBRN Will Air Thursday's Game Live From South Bend

WBRN Logo The Ferris State University Athletics Department has announced the Bulldog women's basketball exhibition game against Notre Dame scheduled for this Thursday, Nov. 10, will be broadcast live locally on News Talk 1460 AM (WBRN).

Ferris State Assistant Athletics Communications Director Rob Bentley will handle the play-by-play duties for the contest, which tips off at 7 p.m. (EST) in Notre Dame's Joyce Center at South Bend, Ind. No internet webcast will be available due to other programming conflicts.

Thursday's exhibition outing marks the season debut for Ferris State and eighth-year head coach Tracey Bloodworth-Fisk. FSU finished the 2004-05 season with an 11-17 overall record and placed fourth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division with a 9-9 conference ledger. The Bulldogs also advanced to the league's postseason tournament for the sixth consecutive year and recorded their ninth-straight season with 10 or more victories last campaign. Ferris returns two starters and eight letterwinners from last season.

The Irish return eight letterwinners and three starters from last year's squad that posted a 27-6 record, won the Preseason Women’s National Invitational Tournament (NIT) championship, made its way as high as third in the national polls, finished second in the Big East Conference and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division I Tournament. Notre Dame was picked to finish third in this year’s Big East Conference preseason poll.

All of FSU’s 2005-06 league games will be carried live by the new WBRN. Selected contests can also be accessed live via the internet by clicking on the Bulldog Athletics Webcasts icon at www.ferris.edu/sports. Jason DaDay will handle play-by-play duties for the conference home games with Rob Bentley taking care of all GLIAC road contests. Thursday's outing at Notre Dame is the only non-league women's basketball game currently scheduled to be aired.
