Real Experience on the Job

Paid Internships are arranged for students in the tennis management program. The program includes two semesters off campus at locations across the country, plus their on-going work assignments at the Racquet & Fitness Center laboratory (See below).

Students have opportunities to work with outstanding tennis professionals at country clubs, public tennis centers, resorts, commercial, and other tennis facilities and tennis academies, they have included facilities such as:

• The Boca Raton Resort and Club - Boca Raton, FL
• Greenwich Country Club - Greenwich, CT
• Mid-Town Tennis Club - Chicago, IL
• New Canaan Field Club - New Canaan, CT
• Philadelphia Cricket Club - Philadelphia, PA
• Sea Pines Racquet Club - Hilton Head Island, SC
• USTA Training Center - Key Biscayne, FL
• Vail Cascade Club - Vail, CO

Many times, students are hired upon graduation at clubs that employed them as interns.

University Racquet and Fitness Center

The facility is used as a laboratory by PTM students and is managed by a member of the U.S. Professional Tennis Association. This facility is used by PTM students to train in a real management and tennis instruction environment right on the University's campus. It also serves as a home for our division II men's and women's intercollegiate tennis teams. The Racquet and Fitness center is also home to the largest Tennis Camps in the state of Michigan.
