This Emmy-winning television journalist and best-selling author visited campus to
meet with classes and the PEP faculty roundtable during the day. That evening, Moore
offered an open lecture entitled "The 2008 Presidential Primaries and Election" that
recapped the Bush administration and the current primary season to more than 125 students,
faculty, and citizens.
- Focus the Nation, February 27, 2008 (Slide Show)
Originally scheduled as part of the nation-wide event for January 30 and rescheduled
due to inclement weather, Focus the Nation offered more than 200 students, faculty,
and community members an opportunity to share information about how we can act locally
to address the global warming issue. Participants enjoyed refreshments at an information
mall with tables representing various community organizations involved in the sustainability
movement. Next, a panel of campus and community leaders informed the audience about
what is currently being done locally and responded to questions. Finally, the audience
viewed a rebroadcast of the January 30 presentation of The 2% Solution webcast.
- Super Tuesday, February 5, 2008 (Slide Show)
More than 400 students and faculty gathered in Westview Dining Hall between 8 and
11 p.m. to watch the primary election results on six flat screen television monitors,
each linked to a different media feed. PEP and Ferris Dining Services provided pizza
and pop for all in attendance and Ferris political science faculty provided expert
commentary throughout the evening.
