All-America Alumnus Monty Brown Joins WWE

Monty Brown Former FSU football All-American Monty Brown recently joined World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) where he is reaching international acclaim through his alter-ego "Marquis Cor Von."

Brown, the first Bulldog athlete in school history to be named both a first-team All-American and a first-team Academic All-American, was the leader of a football resurgence at Ferris during the 1990s. The linebacker went on to play for five years in the National Football League and was a member of two different Super Bowl teams.

Now, as the feared Marquis Cor Von, Brown has achieved a childhood dream of joining the professional wrestling circuit. In his nationally-televised debut match (Jan. 16), Monty used his signature "Pounce" move followed by a Russian leg sweep to bring his opponent to submission.

Brown is currently featured on the Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECM) brand of WWE and will join his entourage next month for a star-studded tour of New Zealand.

He continues to be a friend to Ferris State University and is often spotted at home football games visiting with his former coach Jeff Pierce and patrolling the sidelines.
