Orientation Instructions:
You should contact Dr. Morgan six weeks prior to the first day of the rotation to verify dates, times, directions, parking, and any other instructions. Report to the address above at 8:00 a.m. the first day of the rotation for orientation to clinical policies and protocol, administrative procedures, etc. CPR certification must be current. Completion of Hepatitis B series is required (unless waiver is signed) and annual TB testing must be completed. BE CERTAIN TO TAKE YOUR CURRENT CPR CRD, TB TEST RESTULTS CARD, AND HEP B (OR WAIVER FORM) TO EACH OF YOUR ROTATION SITES.

Educational Objectives:
Improve the externs ability to:
diagnose and manage vision problems in all ages of patients
diagnose and manage visual and ocular disease processes such as cataracts,
diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, anterior segment disease, etc.
To develop a knowledge and understanding of the health care delivery in Indian Health Service and to participate in multi-disciplinary health care aspects of that care.
To develop an understanding of the social and cultural characteristics of American Indian patients in our region
To provide adequate facilities and resources for use by the interns. (new facility opened 3/04)
