Getting Help

Getting Help -- by Telephone

Telephone help is available during the following hours while classes are in session. The hours are the same during Summer sessions, except on Fridays when Reference service only extends to 5 p.m. The reference desk telephone number is (231) 591-3602.

  • Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 10 p.m.
  • Friday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Saturday: 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Getting Help -- in Person

Librarians and other staff members provide Reference service in person at the Oval Information Desk each day. The hours are the same as for telephone reference.

Getting Help -- by Email

Librarians provide patron assistance via email on a daily basis. We try to reply within 24 - 48 hours but requests received on weekends and questions that require extra research may take longer.

A real-time chat reference service is available for the Ferris State University community during the following hours while classes are in session. The hours are the same during Summer sessions, except on Fridays when Chat service only extends to 5 p.m.
