FLITE Test Proctoring

Faculty Guidelines

  1. The FLITE test proctoring service is for make-up exams only. This FLITE service cannot be used to give class or large group examinations. Make-up exams can only be proctored between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Tuesday and between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Friday, excluding holidays and breaks. Faculty should contact the FLITE Dean's Secretary, Laurie, at ext. 3727, to determine the rooms reserved for proctor testing each semester and then inform their students of the location. Students may also ask at the FLITE Check Out Desk for the room location if they arrive and cannot remember the room number.
  2. To insure the secure handling of tests, faculty members should deliver testing materials directly to Laura Wernette in the FLITE Dean's Office, FLITE 410E the day before a test is to be given.
  3. Tests need to be delivered in envelopes with a completed test transmittal form attached to the outside of the envelope. Please complete the label accurately and completely so that the proctor will know what students may or may not use during the examination.
  4. Completed tests will be collected and held by the FLITE Dean's Secretary. Faculty members may pick up their students' tests the next workday after the test is taken between 8:00 am and 5:00 p.m. Tests will be returned to the faculty member in their original testing transmittal envelopes.

Student Guidelines

  1. Students must meet with their professor to arrange make-up testing. Make-up exams can only be taken between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Tuesday and between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Friday, excluding holidays and breaks. Students should verify with their instructor the testing location and that the examination will be available at the given time. Students may enquire at the FLITE Check Out Desk for the appropriate room location if they should arrive and not remember where to meet with the testing proctor.
  2. Students will not be allowed to leave the testing area (for example to use the restroom or get a drink) once they have received their test.
  3. Students will be responsible for supplying their own pencils/pens, calculators, and other supplies.
  4. A photo id (i.e., Bulldog card or driver's license) will be required to take an examination.
  5. The student will need to sign and complete the appropriate portion of the testing transmittal form.
  6. If a student MUST leave the testing area prior to completion of a test, the test will be retrieved from the student and returned incomplete to the appropriate instructor. It will be up to the instructor to determine if the student can finish the test at another date.
  7. The proctor will not answer questions about the examination or the content of the examination. Any questions should be directed to the instructor.

Proctor Guidelines

  1. The proctor will retrieve tests from the FLITE Dean's Secretary, Laura Wernette (FLITE 410E), at least ten minutes prior to the beginning of a testing session (i.e., 4:50 pm on Tuesdays and 12:50 pm on Fridays).
  2. Prior to the distribution of a test to any student, the proctor will request to see a photo id to verify the identity of the student.
  3. Prior to distribution of a test to a student, the proctor will review the Special Instructions section of the testing transmittal form with the student so that both the student and the proctor are familiar with the special instructions.
  4. The proctor will ensure that the student has signed the testing transmittal form prior to taking receipt of the test.
  5. If the test is to be timed, the proctor will complete the appropriate time section on the testing transmittal form (i.e., starting and ending time).
  6. The proctor will not answer questions about the examination or the content of the examination. Any questions should be directed to the instructor.
  7. The proctor is not to confront a student if he/she believes a student is cheating. If the proctor has a concern, he/she should place a note to the instructor along with the test that identifies the proctor's concern. The proctor should also notify the FLITE Dean's Secretary of any incident or concern.
  8. The proctor should return tests (whether completed or not) to the FLITE Dean's Secretary, Laura Wernette's office (FLITE 410E) within fifteen minutes of the completion of the proctoring session.
