As a library Associate in Reference & Instructional Services (RIS), Lyle Mourer performs the following tasks: prepares monthly reference desk schedule and arranges coverage as needed, takes and maintains minutes of RIS meetings, handles room reservations for the Library Instructional Studios, aids patrons at the reference desk, schedules the Freshmen seminar (FSUS) classes for library orientation, conduct a library instruction session or cover the Circulation desk as needed, prepares handouts for the display racks, assists librarians and department head as asked in a wide variety of projects.

Lyle also serves on several library committees.
